FWOPERA Studio
The FWOpera Studio was established in 2002 as a training program for operatic artists beginning their professional careers. Four singers and one pianist are selected through national auditions to be in residence with Fort Worth Opera from mid-September through mid-May. In addition to touring Texas as part of Children’s Opera Theatre, the young artists serve as ambassadors to our community and are given smaller roles in our main stage productions. In addition our young artists receive training from our opera staff, visiting artists, conductors, directors and managers.
Young artists who wish to be considered for the FWOpera Studio should have completed their master’s level training, and have participated in at least one nationally recognized year-long or summer training program, or have equivalent experience in professional opera. To apply for an audition, please submit resume and headshot along with a CD or tape of at least three arias in contrasting styles and languages. Please see the audition section for audition dates and submission guidelines.
